Julia Ideson BuildingThe Friends of the Texas Room developed a comprehensive documentary about the Houston History Research Center (HHRC), which premiered at the Museum of Fine Arts and on public television (Channel 8) in 2008. The documentary emphasizes the scope and depth of the collections and the many purposes for which they are used.

Researchers, including architects, businesspersons, lawyers, city planners, preservationists, students, and historians are featured talking about how they have used the collections in their work. The history and architectural beauty of the Julia Ideson Building, which houses the HHRC, is also emphasized.

Friends member James R. Bailey, owner of Sunset Productions, is the producer. Mr. Bailey has produced many outstanding television documentaries including the series "The Golden Age of Texas Courthouses."

The DVD of the documentary is now available for purchase either by mail (PDF) or online (Section B).
